Thank you for my Freedom!

As I’ve matured I’ve gained a deep appreciation for my freedom. One can truly value their freedom only after it has been limited or taken away altogether and they must fight to regain it.

On this July 4th holiday, I am humbled and grateful to be allowed to sit on the back porch, sip my coffee and write these thoughts to you without the fear of war interrupting my afternoon. Gratitude is the attitude as not all have the privilege I have been given. I am proud to live in the #usa and call middle Tennessee my home. 🇺🇸

Freedom … what a gift it truly is! The gift to celebrate birthdays and anniversaries with loved ones without restriction. The freedom to turn off the lights at 9:00 pm and crawl into a comfy, cozy bed without fear. The freedom to cook steaks with my husband while watching the kiddos swim in the pool. 💦

But as with all gifts…someone must pay a price. A steep price must be paid to gain something of extreme value and freedom has the ultimate cost. A life. Sometimes it’s a neighbor’s son, a cousin’s wife, a child’s teacher … a lifelong friend. 🎗️

Thank you to the courageous men and women who have a profound sense of duty to protect my personal freedom. Thank you for your work ethic. Thank you for your time and effort. Thank you for your bravery.
